It number eight he was traded from the Bruins in May 76 to the New York Rangers so. This stick had to be before. He was traded which was around probably the mid 70s. Istill have this is it’s gotta be about 45 years old sure. What PMP made in Canada great stick pretty cool huh.

Surgeon RX sticks this is designed specifically for those hyper scale of offensive-minded pliers. And really what we’ve done here is taken out precision flex profile. It into our new quad core blade in a way that’s perfect for those players who are looking for. That quick release the new quad core palatal asus mega torsion ally simply without increasing blade wait. This is a benefit to player. They have reduced twisting on chat. They also have very good luck beat. You feel of the search. And RX dick comes from the foam. It allows the player to have a very soft feel but is also stiff enough. It doesn’t Bend on shaft. We also engineered the composite of lastima stick to provide the appropriate stiffness level for this type of play the surgeon RS unmatched response to take control of the game.
And welcome to another review today we’re gonna be reviewing one of the STX surgeon 500 sticks. You remember back in January little backstory actually ended up having to choose a team of people to test out gloves of their choice so. They got the surgeon 500. They got the stallion 500. And a stick of choice the surgeon 500 again. Or the stallion 500. Iwas lucky enough to actually get the surgeon 500 stick. And the stallion 500 stick so you’ll be seeing the review for the stallion here very nice fairly soon. Iended up going with the stallion gloves. Ican’t say any regrets about. It so as far as two sticks go let’s go ahead. And review the first. One so of course today is the surgeon 500 so. This is the stick as I’ve been using its 100 flex X 91 so it’s similar to a P 91. Or a Sakic you can call. It’s fairly open-toe. Ireally like this thick it’s probably. One of the better shooting stuff hey anyway it’s probably. One of the better shooting sticks. That I’ve used here recently, so we’ll just go ahead. And break into and talk. Some stuff about and I’ll let. You know what I didn’t like.
Now my first impression. It out of the box was hey. This is actually kind of near it’s. You know grey silver whitish shot. And then the bottom it’s. All black so that was kind of cool. Ireally like the big STX letters. Ido play with a couple of guys who are doctors two of them are actual plastic surgeons so. They vary and quickly notice. You know the medical cross right there so. That was kind of cool. They thought it was near so. Iactually thought it was neat too so. It was really nice the balance of the stick right off. And out of the box it is not blade heavy. It has a dual kick so kind of evens out throughout the shop making it lighter. What it really feels like. You know like it on a scale. It makes it feel lighter. What the scale tells. You so it’s pretty neat. Ialso did like a little bit of touch right here with the teal.
And of course over here on the blade I’m a fan of teal it’s a pretty nice color so first for the impression. Ithought about this stick. Ifresh out of the box I’m gonna go ahead. And give it a 8 out of 10 the different tones of the color normally. All black sticks or for them to be blacked out. You know I don’t want. Anything flashy but. This actually was really neat. And kind of stuck out to. Me moving on we’re gonna go ahead. And touch up on the blade. Iended up having a phone interview with. One of their reps and then ended up having it with. One of their I don’t know. If he’s an investor. One of their higher-ups but. He was actually really great himself as well. Both of them are really nice guys. We ended up going over the technologies. They were kind of surprised about. You know what I know about stick technology so. It was really neat to actually have them break.
It down for me you know give. Me their take on why they went with. This wrap what they’re trying to do with the double kick the dual kick technology part about. It was really neat like. They did tell me about the blade. That the blade was going to be a little bit softer. Than normal, they understand. You know where I’m coming from I’m using stiffer blades especially with share wood. Some warrior the stiffer the blade. And the better performance. Ifeel like they told. Iwould be really surprised as far. This stick would perform with a little bit of a softer blade in. It is fairly soft you can actually bend. It with your hand they told. Me durability might be a little bit of an issue over time but honestly it’s been since January. Now May 7th or May 8th the last time. It was Saturday it’s still running strong it’s still shooting hard the only thing. Ihad to do was adjust to. Iwas shooting what’s different end to shoe right here. You can usually see on my tape after a game.
Most of the pock marks are right here with. Most of the park marks are actually over here so ivory learned to kind of reload my shot for wrist shots. And snap shots and slop shots too. And kind of focusing more on to be a little bit. More toes heavy, so I’m guys sleeper first shooting. That way what Beeton. They actually encourage people to use their sticks by shooting. That was so it was a little bit of an adjustment but. Ifigured it out I’ve noticed. That my shots got a little. More accurate it feels like I’m shooting harder but. Icouldn’t tell I can’t play goalie at the same time playing forward right over time the blade did soften up a little bit. It has not lost feel. It is losing its stiffness. It already came a little bit softer. Iwould give it a 7 out of 10 only. Iam kind of rigorous.
It comes to testing sticks. Ido like to beat them up to let. You know some proper feedback. It flexes backwards. You know for the torque. It collapses you know a lot quicker. Where the damage usually tends to occur. What the durability is looking like so. Itend to on the first use. Ido have the luxury of working part-time at Aki rinks so. Whenever I do go out there. You know I stay out there with a couple of friends who also work there. We just shoot around so. Itry to take at least 50 slop shots 50 wrist shots 50 snapshots. Imake a judgment of how it’s performing so far. Anything after that is an added plus. And adds to the durability of how the stick is going with. That being said this stick is still running strong but again I’ve had to readjust. Now my shooting has gotten a little bit. Closer towards the toe. It feels like stiffer. This just kind of offers too soft of a feel it’s still great for accepting hard passes but it’s kind of losing its feel.
It comes to snap shots wrist shots load great snap shots one-timers. And slap shots are starting to feel a little bit like the quality is. You know kind of fading out so for. Iwill say I do give it a 7 out of 10 as far as a performance. You can tell the fuse point right here actually. You see the line a little bit so clearly. This is kind of two piece stick fusion. You can tell the little spawn right here so with. That leaning up this was a shaft. Or soleus a shaft I would actually go back to using two piece sticks. And the reason you guys know. Iused to use 2p sticks. Most of them this shaft is such a good shooting Shafter reminds. Me of the old love and feel.
Iused to have for the share wood RM 19 that’s why I’m such a big fan of share wood. They always keep it consistent. They always keep it coming and. This competes with. It with that being said the Flex like. Iwon with the 100 flex shaft because of the dual kick point. They did tell me to go with the 100 flex. Because it’s going to be a lot whippy err. They were right this thick feels a lot with your wrist shots. Even passes make the shaft flex pretty hardcore so it’s kind of cool. You can get some good whip on. You really want to take a shot out. And just you know get. It go so it’s really nice the balance like.
Isaid a dual kick point makes the bounds of the shaft. And make it seem a lot lighter it’s not blade heavy it’s not heavy somewhere inside of the shop the whole entire thing is just nice and light. And just keeps shooting and keeps going for you. Iwill touch up again on passing really great stick for passing the puck receiving passes are just fantastic. You really feel it on the blade. You don’t get too much vibration on the shaft. You just kind of hear the clapping and. You also get a good warm tone. It sounds weird to say. That but it literally keeps. Me a good warm tone. And it’s just absolutely fantastic. And also the same for wrist shots loading a wrist shot it’s out of. This world fantastic so for the shaft flexing the balance. Iwill give it a 10 out of 10 it’s just so good so strong it’s literally the best part so. We move on to the durability. Now for durability the blade breaking down quickly but not as quickly it’s not broken as per se.
Any crack so you do see a little bit of damage here let. Me get a light for you. And to use a flashlight for it but there’s a sizable crack right there it’s a good chunk missing as well it’s really hard to tell sorry there. Whatever you want to see. More pictures up close. If the blade I’ll be. Then happy to show you anyway back to normal so with the durability of the blade I’m sure. This stick to someone who’s. More of a beginner you know mid-range player. Someone who doesn’t beat up their sticks. That much this stick in particular would lose quite a bit of time. And that’s great that’s. What you want a good stick to last a long time the shaft itself is not broken down. It still shoots like the first day. It which is actually great. And I’m not gonna lie man. Ireally really like. And, so I’m very happy to actually say.
This one of the longer-lasting shafts. That I’ve used a lot of them really go dad the pop goes dead after a month. Or two of use and abuse. One has just lasted it’s stayed consistent. Nothing has gone wrong about. If STX added maybe another weave layer like a saw to. That blade and made. It a little bit not. That stiff but a you know keeps the durability going this stick would actually be. Even better I would call. It a minor tweak I think a little tweak maybe just. That in the blade would actually be just the change. It might need but maybe their developers have. Something else in mind. Either way I would look forward to. Now as far as intangibles the way. Now without being said like. More time the durability eight out of ten just because of the blade it’s still running good smooth but. You know breaking down III will give it an eight out of ten the rest of the shaft.
Igive it a ten out of ten of course for intangibles of course the puck feel from. This take as I did mention before. It is fairly warm normally. Iam used to that hard pop from. All my other sticks like CCM. And Sherwood but the softer feeling from. This blade when receiving a pass. Or taking a shot it’s actually really different. Idon’t have to look down to find the puck but. It is really neat it kind of feels like you’re you’re accepting hard passes like a with the pillow. Imean it’s just really nice. Idon’t know why I like. It so much it’s hard to explain but. If you’ve ever used a stick. That had a softer blade. When receiving a hard pass feels like home. This the grip on the stick it’s not tacky it’s not too much it’s barely. Even there you really have to just grip. It really tight with your palm just. Even feel a little bit of a grip.
One thing they did correct about. This is the grip on. They didn’t go over the top like. Some companies do they didn’t make. It feels like your hands are glued on it’s just there to offer a little bit of grab. Whenever you’re you’re. You know trying to move your hand around. Ifeel STX is on to. Something with this stick the same with the stallion will touch well up on the stallion on the other video but. Ireally feel like they’re onto. Something this is a legitimate high-end stick obviously there’s a couple of pro so who are using it so. It is a good stick it’s a legitimate high-end stick for the price range. It goes for compared to other high-end sticks.
One takes the cake in my eyes. And they’re working towards a good goal. Imean after speaking with those two gentlemen from STX asking them prodding them with questions about. They do their research. How long have they been working on. And of course you know STX. You know their background in lacrosse. You know that wood lacrosse. They have a good established name. You also know that with. That being said they do take their sweet time. And developing product. They release it’s a product that’s worth. It so with that being said. They put a lot of that hard work into their sticks. And they’re protective look out for their protective. It is already hitting the market. It is phenomenal I really cannot wait to use. It’s gonna be awesome. And would I recommend. This stick absolutely again. Ido want to make you aware of the blade being a little bit softer but. That doesn’t mean that it’s broken down on.
Me there were a couple of other guys from the tester team who did break their stick. They do play a higher level two of them play junior. And STX immediately replaced those sticks they’re still using them. They haven’t had an issue since maybe. They got a bad batch at the time. Idon’t know it happened with. Me with a different stick company. They did great they replaced. That stick is still kicking its great so yeah. Iwould definitely recommend. It overall score for the entire stick I’m gonna go ahead. And give it an 8 out of 10. This thick is worth. It ate out of ten is a pretty damn good score the performance the shooting the only thing. That could be hindering maybe is just like. Isaid the blade going softer as far as the durability on. That but you see the stick is not broken like. Idid mention there are a couple of paint chips but paint chips are paint chips.
Nothing to cry about go ahead. And check them out STX comm. And they’ll be than happy to work with. And provide all the information. You need they’re great guys to deal with great guys to work with. It has been a pleasure to deal with them so eight out of ten STX surgeon 500 go out there. One feel free to leave a comment feel free to share feel free to like ask. Any questions you guys know I’m an open forum we’ll be. Than happy to answer questions like my Facebook page thinking Jack’s hockey reviews I’ll be. Than happy to talk to. You guys through there. You know don’t hesitate subscribe down at the bottom. Or do like one donkey head talk crap down at the bottom. And troll whatever doesn’t matter to.
Me thanks for watching I appreciate. And look forward to the next one.

Hi I’m Ali Tanner with Harrow Swartz. Ihave with me the reprise field hockey stick reprise is an elite-level stick it’s ninety percent carbon. And weighs 535 grams. It has a traditional mole which also helps with control. And accuracy when shooting generally forwards prefer. This stick because it’s so stiff in light. And has a great first touch midfielders also love. It provides great power. When shooting on gold.
All right we have the torch feel. You stick it’s offered in a red. And a blue this stick is the only. One in our line that has the matte finish not as glossy. Or sticky as the traditional plastic coating stick comes at. One weight medium 20 ounces. This stick is offered in an extra-long size at 39 inches up to 39 inches it’s a pretty traditional structure fifty percent carbon forty percent fiberglass ten percent Kevlar there’s a lot of power in. This stick the weight balance is a little lower. Then normal helps for a quicker swing harder hit. All around and very popular with defenders too strong stick. And midfielders but I’ve had four words. That love it as well that’s the torch.

Another impressive skate with a 90 80 series. What kind of player will be wearing this type of skate actually pro level it’s a pro level skate so. We still see this construction at pro level so it’s made with our rocket frame technology so it’s a very robust material very light very durable material inside the skate. We have the total dry liner which is the liner. We could find in the super tacks in the previous years. We have a clear TPU outsole very stiff. We have our SB 40 older so really a stiff under boot 2 gives. You maximum power in your strides I’m noticing to. That the tongue is a little bit different seems a lot. More comfortable in.
